چکیده

Abstract Preliminary aircraft design and cabin are essential well-established steps within the product development cycle for modern passenger aircraft. In practice, execution usually takes place sequentially, with preliminary defining a basic layout detail implementation following in subsequent step. To enable higher fidelity assessment of early process—for example by means virtual reality applications—this paper proposes an interface, which can derive detailed 3D geometry fuselage from data provided Common Parametric Aircraft Configuration Schema (CPACS). This is key step towards integration analysis automated collaborative chains, not only terms comfort, but also manufacturability or crash safety. Like TiGL Geometry Library CPACS, interface presented acts as parameter engine, translates CPACS into CAD using Open Cascade Technology library. However, scope expanded significantly, albeit explicit focus on fuselage, including more details such extruded frame stringer profiles floor structures. Furthermore, advanced knowledge management techniques employed to detect augment missing data. For applications, triangulated representations be established exchange formats, creating common visualization platforms. Additionally, new evolution definition schema presented, incorporate models components seats sidewall panels enabling immersive mock-ups.

From Preliminary Aircraft Cabin Design to Cabin Optimization - Part I -

This paper conducts an investigation towards main aircraft cabin parameters. The aim is two-fold: First, a handbook method is used to preliminary design the aircraft cabin. Second, an objective function representing the “drag in the responsibility of the cabin” is created and optimized using both an analytical approach and a stochastic approach. Several methods for estimating wetted area and ma...

Conceptual Analysis of Complex System Simulation Data for Decision Support: Application to Aircraft Cabin Design

This paper presents a conceptual approach for decision support applied in a collaborative complex system design project. The approach takes advantage of the use of Similarity-based Formal Concept Analysis (SFCA) to classify, visualize, and explore simulation data in order to help system designers to identify relevant design choices. The approach is illustrated on an aircraft cabin design case s...

Active Control of Aircraft Cabin Noise

The noise levels in the passenger cabin of turbopropeller-driven aircraft are typically higher than the noise levels in comparable turbofan-powered aircraft. The sources of noise in a turboprop aircraft include boundary layer flow noise, structure-borne noise due to engine vibration, and acoustic excitation of the fuselage due to the propeller, with the latter being dominant for most turboprop ...

Effect of aircraft-cabin altitude on passenger discomfort.

BACKGROUND Acute mountain sickness occurs in some unacclimatized persons who travel to terrestrial altitudes at which barometric pressures are the same as those in commercial aircraft during flight. Whether the effects are similar in air travelers is unknown. METHODS We conducted a prospective, single-blind, controlled hypobaric-chamber study of adult volunteers to determine the effect of bar...

Aircraft Cabin Propagation for Multimedia Communications

In this paper an innovative service concept based on wireless technologies for aircraft cabins is presented. The peculiarities of radio propagation and interference for UMTS, IEEE 802.11b for WLAN and Bluetooth inside a cabin are discussed. Part of this work is supported by the EU in the framework of the IST WirelessCabin Project (IST-2001-37466).
